Would you be OK hiding your child from the world?

I'm going to try and explain the best way I can.

The father of my kids is a great dad. We have a 3 year old daughter and I'm pregnant with our 2nd baby.. he sees her all the time, buys her what she wants/needs and the child support is more than enough. I get $1500 for one child. He pays her school fees, insurance and any extracurricular activities that she might participate in. The only thing is his family doesn't know about her and by family I mean his parents, siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles or his friends. I'm okay with it because like I said he's a great father to our girl but with our 2nd baby on the way I don't know how much longer he can keep them a secret.. Would you be ok with that though? Hiding your kids from their father's side of the family?

wow definitely not. has he told you why he doesnt want them knowing?

Is there a reason he hasn't informed his family? Seems shady to me.

i guess the question is WHY dont they know about her?

No! Wht would be the reason behind it

Why would he want to hide them? I mean at least he is being a good father and provides but unless the family were terrible people I don't understand why he is hiding the fact he has kids.

No! That seems like a ton of work and for what reason? I would want my child to know their relatives and have a sense of family. And how are his parents goign to feel when they find out a grandchild has been kept from them? My parents are deceased, so I am of the mind set that our time here is short and I would have immense guilt over such a selfish act.

Hell no, thats just weird. I was extremely upset and disappointed with DH's family when I was pregnant. Him and his parents were the only ones who knew about DS until after he was born, because we weren't married. But he was almost 3 when he finally did get married, so they had to tell everyone about it eventually.

Why does he keep his children secret from his family?

I would need a VERY good reason why?

Uh, no. Even excluding the fact that that is weird and creepy...what are you going to tell your children when they are old enough to wonder where dads side of the family is?

That is really weird to me that no one in his family knows about his child.

Sounds very fishy to me.

Uh no, I would not be okay. I would suspect that he is hiding something from me as well, maybe a wife or another family?
