Summer Infant monitor from Wal Mart

Summer Infant - Secure Sounds 2.4 GHz Digital Baby Monitor

Sorry, this is a re-post but nobody seemed to be awake early this a.m. for my original post.

Has anyone here had any experience with this monitor? It lists on Wal Mart's website for $48.92 and seems to enjoy pretty descent reviews, but I'm just curious if any of you would also endorse it.

I do not know which one you mean & I unfortunately don't have time right now to look it up. I have two summer monitors. Both are video monitors. One was around $100. and works great, but it is kind of bulky tocarry around and has to be plugged in. For my second baby (due today... lol) I bought one that was $175.00. It is smaller, hand-held and has a rechargablebattery. I like it for those reasons, but the picture is not as good as the 100.00 one and it is suppose to be in color, but we have yet to see it show any color.

For $50.00 you probably aren't getting the video. I would highly recommend it. That way you can actually see what is going on in there (not just hear....) Babies cry, but are NOT awake... You won't know that without the video...

My friend, I don't know what kind she has, but she has one like it and really seems to like it.

(If it's the one with the video monitor on it at least)

This is my $100.00 one. Aside from being bulky & requiring a plug we like it. It is great for at night to put on my nightstand. The video light turns off, but I left it on. It took me a few weeks to get used to sleeping with the light on.

This is the $175.00 one I have. At wal-mart is it $189. I got it online for less. I can't remember from where, but if someone wants to know I will look it up. Like I said previously, this one is supposed to be in color. I haven't seen any color, yet, though. It is fairly small. It will fit in the pocket of my robe and has a rechargeable battery. The picture isn't as good as the other, though.

I think this is the one you mean. It had a 5 star rating at wal-mart. I will just say that from my experience that the video monitor is the best thing I bought. It gives me peace of mind. And though they may be expensive, can you really put a price on that? My dh & I both agreed that we are glad that we have them. We can go outside, do the laundry, etc. & know that our baby is o.k. because we can see her.
