I was induced with my 2nd at 39 weeks. I was already dilated to 3.5 and 80% effaced. I had her 4 1/2 hours after they started pit. They started it at 7:40am and she was born at 12:02pm (10 mins of pushing!)

They might try a cervadil(sp) first to help with dilation, which needs to stay in fir 12sure hours and then they will start pitocin.

I was induced a Wednesday at 9 am starting just with cervidil and I was 2 cms they started oxytocin (pitocin) at about 10:30pm that night and broke my water at 11 pm. By 10 am I was 4 cms by 12 noon I was 5cm and by 2:30 I was 10 cm. His head was turned to the side so they waited a bit I pushed for about a half hour and he was born at 5:16 pm Thursday. I was in active labor for roughly 31 hours they said. It was pretty painful towards the end.

I went in Monday night for cervidil, when they took it out, I had no progress, and was still at 4cm, that was at 11am, at noon the started pitocin, after an hour of no changes on pitocin, they decided to break my water and finally progress, at 540pma that day I was at 10cm,
So I had a 4hour labor and 11I minutes of pushing.
