Swelling after c-section/pre-e?
posted 4th Jul '12
I had been diagnosed with pre-e at 40 weeks and was sent for an induction which ended up in a c-section. Anyway, I was discharged after about 5 days and I've noticed my feet/legs/ankles are really swollen--more swollen than I was DURING pregnancy. I don't know if this is normal or not? Any advice/in-put would be appreciated. TIA.

I swelled pretty bad after my c-section. Have you had your BP checked after delivery?

Well, they kept me on the mag sulfate for an additional 24 hours following my c-section (which was on Saturday), and I got taken off of it Sunday evening, and was monitored until early Tuesday..and it seemed to be okay, only once was it a tad higher but only like 129/83.

I was super swollen afterwards, and I had a vaginal birth. They pumped me full of pitocin afterwards to help my uterus close, so that's what made me all puffy.

I was incredibly swollen after my csection. Its been two weeks and I'm still a bit swollen. It looked like my feet and ankles were going to explode.

I didn't have any swelling while pregnant but after my last csection my feet and ankles were swollen for a month. The Dr told me it was from ask the fluids they pumped in me.
