You have to sleep when she sleeps for now . It's one of those mom things you need to get accustomed to .

I swear this works to switch their schedule . Whichever way you lay her in her bed to sleep at night ... turn her the opposite way from now on . It might cause fussing at first but it will make her more wakeful during the days and you in turn will be able to switch her around .

Keep in mind shes only 5 days old - 5 day olds sleep ALL the time . It will pass eventually.

sleep when she sleeps...her clock is off b/c you were normally moving around during the day so she was sleeping b/c your moving was rocking her to sleep and then when you laid down at night she would be awake...that's y she is doing that...eventually it will change but not until she is like a month or so...but if you keep your room really dark with no lights or anything then she will get bored and go to sleep lol...

My daughter did that for a while. The only thing that we really could do was during the day we didn'tkeep her too bundled because the cozier she felt the more she slept. Then after dinner we would give her a bath and that would wake her right up. I don't remember when she figured out her nights, it just kinda happened!

some one told me that to help set as babys internal clock is at night when you want her to start going to sleep turn the lights down and the noise and in the morning when you would like her to wake up so she is awake long enough to go to sleep and eat and stuff when she needs to put her in an hour of direct light and music

any one else heard about this? dont know it works but worth a try

She's only 5 days old.
She'll start sleeping at night soon enough.
For now, sleep when she sleeps.

Good trick my daughter's doctor told me to do was put a lamp right next to her bed, since the nursery was BRIGHT BRIGHT all the time she is use to light when she sleeps so do that at night and when she wakes up to bed fed at night feed her in the dark. Worked for my daughter and when she was 9 days old she was sleeping through the night well she'd sleep for 5 hours eat then go back to sleep..

Unfourtnely.. I started letting her sleep in my bed so she sleeps all night with me and WONT sleep in her bed. The light thing works so try it!

I;m TRYING to get her to sleep in her bed, SO and I want 'Our" time and her being in the bed doesnt bring my mood on lol. I tried last night and the little chunk kept me up all night. I was like oh whatever i'll just let her lay in her bed kicking and grunting. (she doesnt cry) and she did it ALL night so I finally gave in and put her in bed with us lol.

its rare that a newborn sleeps all night when they are first born. they do not know their days a nights yet it takes about 2 month for them to figure it out. if you keep them up more during the day they get extremely grumpy.you'll enjoy it when they get older. you'll miss it when all they do is sleep. by 6wks you'll start notice a change in her schedule and she'll start to be awake more often etc.

it takes at least 6wks to adjust to being a new mommy. for the first 6wks all i ran on was 2-4hrs of sleep but that is with 2 kids. and when i got the chance boy i napped. shit the i slept on the floor and the couch too, hubby and i hardly sleep in the same bed for a while.

it gets better trust me.
