Birthday party present question
posted 4th Jul '12
Hello there and Happy Fourth! My daughter turns 4 in a month and since being back to the states, she has been to a couple of kids birthday parties some simple and some big. For the last few weeks she has been talking about having many, many presents on her birthday. Since then, I have been trying to encourage her that birthday parties aren't always about receiving presents, but having fun, enjoying friends, and playing games. Now I ask her what birthdays parties are about, and she replies "is about having fun and enjoying friends..".... I don't want her to focus solely on presents, but at the same time, what child says 'no presents on my birthday' because in reality, is one of the main reasons certain parents throw their kids birthday party. I would like for her to get one or two to see a smile on her face when she gets ready to open one. How would you word out that in an invite? have you been in the same situation and what was your decision? Any thought, ideas.. I would appreciated. T.I.A

That's very true. Thanks for sharing.
