I'm sick and pregnant.. etc.

So my nose is all stuffy, I have a slight cough, sour throat, can't stop sneezing, I feel like I barely get out of bed, I'm congested like no other (especially in my sinuses). I've felt like this for two days now. I was scheduled to work but I feel like smurf. Boss said since it's a holiday, I need an excuse from the doctors. Which is cool, because I probably need to go to the doctors any ways. Do you think my ob/gyn can see me or do I have to go to a regular doctor? I would be a new patient for a regular one and sometimes that can move things really slow. What do I do?

This isn't fair, it's the fourth of july and I feel like smurf. =*(

I'm sorry, hun. How far along are you? I'm 30 weeks and that has pretty much been the norm for me for about 15 weeks now. When I talked to my doctor about it, she said it happens to quite a few pregnant women and that feeling really congested and sick with severe allergies is just normal from the increase in blood volume. I have yet to find any relief. I just deal with it now.

You know that scent you get when you are sick. That feeling. Like burnt marshmellows. That is how I feel. I can barely keep up with my son. I'm 20 weeks and I was never like this with my son.

Do you have pressure behind your eyes and your cheek bones? I know congestion is normal.

That can't be easy keeping up with your little one, being prego and sick. Some days it's only congestion with a lot of pressure from behind my eyes. Other days, (like today), it's bad congestion, pressure behind my eyes, nose.. my whole face really. And my ears feel clogged. Accompanied by a horrible headache and all over sick achy burning feeling. It's the worst. There hasn't been anything I've found that really relieves any of this.

That sounds more like a sinus infection. Have you taken antibiotics? I called in today because I just can't do it. I can't. I'm a server at one of the busiest restraunts we have in the company. We do more people then Time Square so we are always busy. It's really intense too with this new promotion and the heavy trays. I just know being sick like this, there is no way I could do it, keep up and do my job right lol. I didn't ever call off for the bad morning sickness. I just don't want to over do it. I just want to feel better. They said I need a doctors note or I'm terminated since today is 4th July. I'm just going to go tomorrow. It just sucks.

Holy cow. I would hope your work would understand. I've been in that position before. Don't seem to be on the side of your health. I've had all kinds of tests run and still nothing. No infections, or fever. Just my lucky reaction of pregnancy. I'm learning to work with it. Sleeping is the most difficult, but I'll be delivering within the next 7-10 weeks, so relief is hopefully on the way.. I hope your doctor can give you more definitive answers. You sound like you could use a break.
