BV (bacterial vaginosis) again...

posted 4th Jul '12
wtf?! why do i keep getting this nasty smurf. i had it 4 times during my first pregnancy, and this is my second time during this pregnancy. i've never had it when i wasn't pregnant. the only reason i even found out i have it is because i went to L&D due to watery discharge, there's no nasty smell or anything like that. is there any natural way to treat it besides taking metronidazole?

Unfortunately no, I had it several times my last pregnancy, the last time I had it, it turned into chorio-amnioitis, which breaks your water and you must deliver because it can turn deadly. I hope that doesn't happen to you, but it is a possibility since you have recurring BV, I know how bad it sucks.

Thank you so much, I truly hope that doesn't happen to you.
My 27 weeker is doing just fine though, she just turned 3, and is perfect in every way.
Chorio is extremely painful, after I delivered, when they were pressing down on my stomach, I hit one of the nurses, it was like an involuntary thing, I felt bad, but it hurt so bad, they ended up giving me morphine for the pain, thats how bad it was.

i'm glad to hear she is doing well!

i hope that doesn't happen to me neither. i was actually going to postpone picking up my prescription until tomorrow but i'm definitely going to go get it today, after hearing your story. i don't want another traumatic birth experience, my first one was bad enough when my 9 month old was born with an unexpected heart defect that almost killed him.

thank you for sharing that. and again, i'm glad to hear your little one is doing well now.

my dr. recommended eating yogurt atleast once a day to help replace healthy "good" bacteria to help keep the balance after i had developed B.V. with my first pregnancy. i havnt gotten it with my other 2 pregnancies.

I used to get those allll the time when I was pregnant.
.

Yogurt works wonders! Just make sure its real yogurt.

I now take acidophilus chew able supplements since i dont care for yogurt much anymore.

It can be such a pain in the ass!

I also noticed that I got them more with my one ex verses the other.
My doc said its possible that he had very acidic sperm. It made sense to me since when I was put on pelvic rest during my pregnancy I had no bv.
