Anotherr big baby?! grr

So I just came back from the hospital and the doctor said the baby is already approx 3.8kgs... Shoot! My DS was 4.27kgs but I was hoping this one would be a bit smaller. By the looks of it she will be even bigger than my first and this doctor estimated my sons weight exactly! I'm always on a diet while pregnant and still get big babies.... I'm glad all seems oki of course but I'm scared. He said if I dont start by next wednesday he'll have to induce me again... I just hope it's easier this time round... can any mommas who had bigger babies the second time round tell me if it was wayyy worse than the first?? xD

They are inducing you because your baby is "big"? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

And for the record, 9 lbs is not THAT big of a baby and it certainly can be done vaginally.

My daughter was 9lb 12 oz and i had her vaginally with no issues at all.

I'd seek a second opinion or flat out refuse the induction

It might be the same doctor who did her first induction and knows she is obviously uneducated enough to go for it again.

here the average is between 2.5kgs and 3.5kgs so its pretty big copared to others... we are tiny tiny people here haha... I also have high blood pressure so thats also a factor

The "average" doesn't matter. 9 lbs can definetly be done vaginally. And unless your BP is extremely high it's stupid to induce.

The average here is 7-8 lbs. 9 isn't average for us either

lol uneducated enough? Bitch much? my firts induction was because I was overdue... Here most babies over 9 lbs are via C section. I had no problem delivering my first. The induction is going to be on my due date anyway hes just not letting me go past it..

thats what i said too if i did it once i can do it again but they make such a big deal of it they terrify you... My bp has been constantly high in fact they wwere gonna induce me before but he said its safe to stay till my due date... maybe I start on my own anyway so it'll be all good

You dont even need an induction then unless its extremely overdue. here we can go to 43. its actually against the law to induce before 10 days

Really?? Here they dont let you go past 42 except in rare cases. Usually they induce at 41 weeks which sucks but w only have one major hospital so there's really no choice hehe. The private hospitals sometimes let you go past 41 but still not past 42 weeks. I dunno why its so different here we're not given much choice :/

I'm lucky I delivered here in Germany this time. Next time since I will be in the states will be at home so I can avoid the unecessary interventions.

Aren't the states better than Europe? I always thought so but I dont know about Germany. The problem here is since everything is free they just want to get over with it I think. Even the information they give you is very hurried and when I try to ask something I only get yes/no answers its killing me heh. But since you guys say you can refuse an induction I'll try to tell him to leave me for at least another week if my BP doesnt go too high.   thnks grls

No way. The states has a higher death rate.
