Have ou brought this up to his pediatrician or a behavioral therapist? Idk why he'd be doing that but they might have some insight.   I'm sorry that sounds rough on all of you.

My son doesn't have autism but he does have a few developmental problems and he wakes up a couple times a night screaming bloody murder and he will not be comforted unless he has his sippy cup of milk so thats what we've been doing maybe you can try that.

Sounds like Night Terrors - I was reading up on this a few days ago - they say a good trick is after about 45 minutes - 1 hour after he falls asleep - go in his room gently wake him up ask him an easy question - make sure he answers it and then gently lay him back down give him hugs and kisses - it is supposed to interrupt the sleep pattern which could prevent another episode that night -they say night terrors typical happen within the first hour of sleep -

My son is 5 and has autism. He's had sleeping problems since birth. He was on melatonin for a bit, but that didn't work very well. He's been on clonidine for a year and a half. It has worked well until recently. Next we are planning on doing a sleep study. Sleep studies can be done on children ages 6 months and up, so your son would be able to do one. Of course a parent will go sleep there with him. Start with his developmental pediatrician. Call them tomorrow. They may even call a medication in or give you tips over the phone to help before you can get into see them.

My daughter is two and they say she has autism. She has not been fully diagnosed but she is treated as she does have it. If she has it she has very mild autism. She sometimes has crying fits and wakes up, but they aren't very loud and she tosses an turns. After reading some of these posts, maybe I should bring it up to her pediatrician.

y 2yr old son wakes up screaming bloody murder too. He has a hard time falling asleep, and then when he wakes up hes up for an 1-2hrs. We have to turn everything off and give him a cup to drink some times. He'll go to bed etween 9-11pm and be up by 530-6 am. I'm thinking of asking my pediatrician about help with his sleep bc i've tried everything as well. And it can be tough on the whole family
