Please can you give me advice.....A bit urgent!

I was lying in bed this morning and I suddenly felt very wet "down there". I got up to go to the bathroom and more seemed to come out. I don't know if it's amniotic fluid or just a heavy discharge (sorry, TMI!). It seems to be fine when I'm up but as soon as I sit, I feel it again. Not a lot, just a trickle.

Problem is, I'm 30 weeks 4 days. Both my other kids were born very early,a nd I DON"T wan to go through that again!

Other thing is my lower back was really sore all night (and still is), but I don't know if it's just normal preggie back ache or if I could be starting labour.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! 

get checked out just to be safe

any early leaking, andsomewhat contstant(IMO) should be checked out. make an appointment quick. or go emergency room. they can't blame you for being worried and will deffinitely admit you

Thanks, except of course being saturday, they gonna charge me a wacking lot of money if I go to emergency. And my hubby's in lectures all morning. Hmmmm..... I don't want to panic, but I also don't want to be stupid. My back also seems to be getting more and more sore.

I really wan to just ignore it and hope it goes away! I can't face going through all that premmie stuff again!

If you ignore it and it doesn't go away it could cause more problems. Better to be safe than sorry.. sounds like something I would at least call the doctor about.

Amniotic fluid will have a sweet kind of smell to it. Not the strong smell of urine. If you are leaking enough to get a 1/2 bottle sample, I would call your doctor or go the the ER. If it is amniotic fluid that means you are going in to labor and at 30 weeks it should be stopped. Hope everything works out okay.

Call Your Doctor If...

• Your bag of water breaks even though you are not having contractions or labor pains. Tell your doctor what color the fluid is when your bag of water breaks. Do not douche, take a bath (showering is fine), or have sex.
• You are bleeding from your vagina. You do not need to call if you have passed the mucus plug.
• Your labor pains (called contractions) are hard, regular, and going from your front to your back. Your doctor will tell you how frequently your contractions should be coming and how long they should be lasting before you call him or her.
• You have severe, constant pain rather than contractions that come and go.
• You do not feel your baby is moving as much as usual.

When the fluid-filled amniotic sac surrounding your baby ruptures, fluid leaks from your vagina. And whether it comes out in a large gush or a small trickle, you should call your doctor or midwife.

How early were your other kids born?
I would def get checked out ASAP...even it if seems a tad inconvient...or it might cost too much money.

My son was born at 28 weeks and my daughter at 32 weeks. With both I only had contractions, but my water never broke.

My back is actually getting worse, although the fluid is still there but not so much. I think I'll call L&D and they can call my doctor. The inconvenience and money don't really bother me, I think I'm just in denial!

Hi ladies!

Thanks for all your advice! My baby boy was born on Monday afternoon, after i went in on Saturday. He weighed 1.76kg. He's doing well. Still on a ventilator, but stable.

AWESOME! See? what did we tell you  . anytime there is leaking you should go to the emergency room, or at least schedule a visit. it NEVER hurts to be careful. I'm happy to hear he is ok. thanks for the update
