Micronor Birth Control. Need help!

**SOME OF THIS IS TMI! PLEASE READ WITH CAUTION**

My dr switched me from the birth control pill Low Ogesterol to Micronor last month. Micronor is an estrogen free pill. Since I have been on it I've had this crazy sweet tooth. Also, AF showed up today, about a day and a half early and it is super freaking heavy. Like soaking Super sized tampons quickly when I really only use a few regular sized ones in a normal day. I was just wondering if anyone else was on this pill and if you had any of the 'side effects' or if it is just my body getting used to the new pill and maybe it will be better in a month or so? TIA.

I am not sure which mini pill I took but it made me bleed heavy like that for several days then it got lighter but it took 2 weeks to go away   The way I understand it the minipill will thin out the uterine wall and keep it thin so you may not have a period while on it (after this period) b/c of that reason. It doesn't necessarily stop ovulation but changes your cervical mucous and thins out the uterine wall so nothing can attach.

she said she put me on this new pill because of my weight. my BMI is technically 'obese' and she thought the normal BC pill with estrogen might be causing me to not lose the baby weight.... but she never said i would bleed like this.

well if it doesn't slow down in a couple of days I would try to call the nurse at your OBGYN office.

I know this is kind of late but seeing how you didn't have much of a response Andy just happened to be trying to keep being updated on everyone, I wanted to give my two cents. Take it for what it is or not. Lol. I have been on this mini pill for 3 years on and off. I haven't had the heavy bleeding like you were explaining but it does cause me to spot on and off if I happen to miss a pill and there was one time right after having my second child, it caused me to bleed a little heavier than normal. The drs response was that it is known to react with everyone's bodies differently and it has caused some women to bleed heavily at times. I personally love it. But I've had trouble with the estrogen pills too.
