Behavioral Struggles Early.

My son is 10 months. Will be 11months on the 11th, he is already having hitting problems & is no longer listening when we say no. He used to listen to NO, BAD, DONT TOUCH or 1,2,3. But now he listens to nothing. even if we spank his but or smack his hands, he still reaches and goes back for the things that are a NO. Is there anything else we can do; we've tried time out's & everything & even saying NO in a "mean voice" or counting to 3. im stuck.....?

He's 10 months.

Redirect.

Redirection. That's really all you can do at this age.

He is 10 months old. You don't honestly expect him to know what a time out is, or what no means or what 1 2 3 is?

He is too young for any kind of dicipline

Why not teach an infant not to hit by hitting him?
Sigh.

He's a baby, he might understand the word no, but does not process 'doing the right thing' yet. He will not listen to you every time you say no. I would recommend redirecting him with a toy or saying, 'Camden, we don't hit, we touch nice.' and gently rubbing his hand against you every time he does this.

This! He doesn't know why you're spanking him. His is still a baby.

So in order to teach him not to hit, you're hitting him? And you wonder why that's not working for you? He's a baby... he doesn't understand any of that. Redirect when he hits...

Say what!? You spank a 10 month old!?     Hes a BABY he doesnt understand... Spanking him isnt going to make anything better.

uhm actually he does understand 1,2,3. or used to. and he is not young for any kind of dicipline, you expect me to just let him hit & do things he is not suppose to? no. Like i said he used to listen to it then just got up & decided to drop it.
