Month old and already has a cold..too young for allergies?

posted 9th May
SO I have been sick myself with allergies, atleast, thats how it started. Eventually turned into a sinus infection, and then into bronchitis. Well, suprise, suprise, I got my month old baby sick!!

Woke her up this morning, and she could barely breathe through her little nose, so did the brain sucker, got some ooey stuff out, traumatized her at the same time, but with her eventually coughing, sneezing, and eventually THROWING UP, I called her doctor, told the nurse what was going on. She said she'd have the dr. call me back.

Well, any hour later, and more snot sucking attempts later, I get a call for me to bring her in. I get there, and she sneezed on the doctor and snot flew out of her nose onto his white coat..lol. It was both sad and funny at the same time, because her own sneeze scared her.

I asked him about her possibly having allergies as well, (gotta love the Ohio Valley) and he said she was too young to develop allergies yet.   News to me...but I'm not the dr. He told me she just had a head cold, to make sure to give her plenty of fluids (i.e. water), since I'm breastfeeding, keep sucking her nose out with saline drops, and give her baby tylenol when her fever gets to 100.

Anyone elses baby sick? And is it true, too young for allergies??

I am not looking forward to those days.......all though I still deal with them from time to time with my son. It's so easy for them to get colds now, especially with the climate change. Usually starts off with sneezing  I got some baby vicks and rubbed it on the top part of his clothing and dabbed his nose. Those saline drops work great too.........and that fun boogy sucker  I also got a humidifier and kept it close to him at night. One trick that I learned is rubbing vicks on the bottom of their feet and then putting socks over them. It actually worked for my son and he's 2!
It's a rollercoaster when they are sick! Good luck and I hope your baby gets better

I think it has to do with the eucalyptus sp? in it. There are a lot of pores and nerves in your feet. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't but hey, its worth a shot! I hope it works for your baby
