being induced

Ok this is my very first pregnancy and i have had many problems. Now next week my doctor is going to induce and im trying everything to get my son to come out on his own because i don't want to be induce. Does anyone have any tips on how to get my son to come out on his own before my induction date? P.s. i just lost my mucus plug yesterday. And also for those that got induced can you tell me your experience? Please and thank you.

I was induced.
After 20+ hours of labor, I had a c-section.

eh they come when they are ready. I have done EVERYTHING under the sun and I am 41weeks 2days. I am being induced tomorrow morning at 6am!

I was induced..20 hour labor got the epidural at 4cm and it was pure bliss. Actual delivery took 15 minutes of pushing  
I loved my whole experience and wouldn't trade it for the world. I was happy, calm and put together. I loved being able to just walk into the L&D and tell the nurse "Hey, I'm here to have a bay" with a huge smile on my face. BEfore I left to the hospital, i took a shower, did my hair and put some make up on....
in short it was AWESOME!

I walked up and down stairs and took My dads truck down a very bumpy road next morning my water broke 

I was induced. 9 hours of painless labor, including pushing. Best experience ever.
It's not that way for all, but it's not a death sentence, good luck!

See and thats what im scared of....possibly having a c-section. Im freaking out because im a 1/2cm dilated(last time they checked) and before he wasn't dropping although he was in his head do wn position. I have noticed that he is dropping but since i lost my mucus plug is labor bound to happen really soon?

Just because you lost your plug unfortunately doesn't mean labor is near. I was induced and had a wonderful experience. Not all inductions end badly. You can talk to your doctor about how favorable your body is for induction which can give an indication of how likely you would be for a csection. But even though my body showed all the signs that it was unfavorable induction (likely to end in csection) I still had a completely normal delivery.

It's different for everyone. You could go into labor in 2 hours, or 2 weeks.

With my first I was induced at 37 weeks. I got to the hospital around 6 on Monday September 14. They lost my paperwork so they started the fluids but I didn't get anything else done until about noon on Tuesday. That's when they placed the cervadel in me for 12 hrs to ripen my cervix. After about 6 hrs of having the cervadel in they started the pitocen. My contractions came pretty strongly after about an hr. I asked for an epidural. It worked like a champ. Around midnight they took the cervadel out. I was 100% effaced but only at 3 cm. If by 8 I hadn't progressed they were going to break my water. Well around 730 am on Wednesday the 16th my water broke and I delivered my son at 944   It wasn't bad at all for me.

I was only 1 cm and she was at a -1 station. Just depends how your body handles the drugs.

Ok. Also when is the best time to ask for an epidural when i go to the hospital?

you can ask to have one when you get there but they won't give it to you until you at least 4cm dilated.

I got mine when I was a 2. That's partially the reason I didn't progress, I think. But I was fine with a c-section. The thought of it didn't 'devestate' me as it does with some mothers on here.
I'm just weird, I guess.
