Mackenzie Mae, 2 and a half months old

Mackenzie has Amniotic Band Syndrome. She has three fingers fused together, and three toes. She also has many band restrictions, and only a few finger/toe nails.

I had so many scares in my pregnancy, her issues are all cosmetic and she will live a completely normal life.

She's still the most adorable baby ever though, I am a little biased

Here's the princess:

This is Tristan   He's 3. He was born with Pectus Excavatum. Basically, this makes the center of his chest sink inwards. When he was born it looked almost normal, and was barely noticeable. But by the time he was a year, we were already getting shocked comments from people...

The bigger he gets, the more noticeable his chest seems to get. We were told he would "grow out of it". He's not.

We've been to a specialist, and thankfully his chest isn't interfering with his heart or lungs at this time. They said he would have to come in every few years to have it monitored unless something drastically changed. I'm just glad that there's a good chance this won't affect his life in any way   He does have some trouble breathing if he lays on his back, and sometimes he gasps for air, but the dr's don't seem very concerned, so I try not to be either.

This is us recently...he's filling out at the moment (about to hit a growth spurt) so it's looking a lot less...startling, lol. Which is good all the way around, since he gets very self conscious when people stare and say things...

Rylan Kain, my third born (story below pics)
His first set of hand splints. I think he was about a month old, if even

This is the first time he figured out to maneuver his dennis bar (he had serial casting, and this keeps his feet mostly straightened until surgery)

--he is 15 months old now ad was born with Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita. For some reason, early in my pregnancy with him when his joints were developing, he didn't move as much in my womb. You joints require movement in order to develop properly. He may have gotten sick--there is no known for sure cause. It occurs in 1 out of 3,000 births. They discovered he had clubbed feet and both hands were flexed with thumb in palm at the 20 week anatomy scan. We had followup ultrasounds, but I declined an amniocentesis (even though his defects are common with Trisomy 1 . I figured the odds of him having clubbed feet were 1 in 3,000--it made the 1 in 200 chances of going into preterm labor look horrible!! It was a long and scary pregnancy because he rarely moved in my womb. We made several trips to the hospital, and my amniotic fluid was always on the verge of being too low.
He was born perfect in my eyes. I cried and cried and cried when the doctor pulled him out, stopped everything and held him up just to reassure me he was okay. (Even though the NICU team was there waiting to immediately take him). He has normal brain function, although he is behind in speech (he is 15 months and only says mama), and physical development (he just learned to sit at 12 months). He has weak muscles, scoliosis, he will have to have surgery next month on his feet, and his hands will never be normal, although he uses them VERY well! He weighs 14 pounds at 15 months old. He has changed my life forever!
