He's not eating...

So my LO will be 6 months old on the 9th. He is primarily breast fed although he does get 1 bottle of formula a day (whether it's because I'm working or his last feeding of the night because it helps him sleep). He's always had a pretty hefty appetite and has never had a problem switching from breast milk to formula. Lately, though, he hasn't seemed terribly interested in eating. Normally when I breast feed he eats for about 20 minutes, the past few days, however, I'm lucky if I can get him to nurse for 10 minutes total. Today my husband gave him a bottle while I was at work and he only ate 2 oz (he normally has 6-8oz). I'm trying not to worry because he seems happy and he still has plenty of wet diapers but tonight he fell right to sleep without even nursing a little which has never happened before. Any suggestions or thoughts would be awesome! I'm just sort of at a loss at this point. TIA

He could just be going through a growth spurt. Some babies actually eat less and sleep more during them. My son did.

he could be teething and that will take away his interest in eating. i wouldnt worry too much. if ur worried about how much hes eating, then add some baby cereal (rice) to his bottle. it will give him a heavier meal. he also could have a belly ache. if his bowel movements arent regular then just rub his belly. the best way to do that is in a warm bath, with soap on the belly. they love it!

Thank you! Yeah, I have a sneaking suspicion that it is either teething or a growth spurt...it's just hard when he's been so consistent with eating and all of the sudden he's not. At all. It's weird as a mom to watch your baby not eat. I keep feeling like there is something more I should be doing. He is SO happy though and doesn't seem to be bothered at all so I guess I will just keep an eye on it

i have a two yr old and she is going through this "snack" phase that drives me nuts. she will only take 2 bites of her breakfast, lunch and dinner. so, just wait! lol. even when i cut her snack out, she still refuses to eat. again, just a phase. but i trust that your baby is just fine
