Placenta Previa

posted 30th Jun '12
Hello mommies and mommies to be. I was just diagnosed with Placenta Previa and I wondered if any other ladies could tell me how it went for them, if they had it. I am pretty scared.

I had it. I had complete previa. Are you complete or partial?

is that when your placenta is over your cervix? if it is. they will just do a c section when your due and you could have spotting more or even bleeding. but thats only if its what i think it is

I have/had marginal placenta previa. I was put on pelvic rest and had to get another ultrasound to check if it moved up when I was 32 weeks (this past thursday) I'm still waiting on my midwife to call me with results.
there's a very very high chance of it correcting itself if it's marginal or partial.

had it with my dd but it went away on its own, by away i mean it no longer covered the cervix. my dr explained it as a sticker on the inside of a balloon covering the blow up hole: as you inflate the balloon the sticker may move up the side away from the hole

I had complete previa. The placenta did not move. I was on pelvic test and modified bed rest to keep down my chances of preterm labor as I had had in my previous pregnancies.

Keep in mind that complete previa makes it to where baby doesn't descend down into the pelvis so baby, once big enough, will lay transverse (sideways ) and contractions do feel different when you're in actual labor. I was in labor for 2 days and didn't realize it because theyddnt feel like it did with my first three. It's a miracle my placenta didn't abrupt. I had a c section. Sometimes placenta previa will move but complete previa are way less likely to move since its completely covering the cervix. I can show you a pic when I get on my computer if you want to see what it looks like.

I had placenta previa and was on pelvic rest. They werent sure if mine was complete or partial. As of my last ultrasound (I think I was 26 weeks or maybe 28, cant remember anything any more!), my placenta was far enough away from my cervix to allow a vaginal birth. My doctor is still being cautious though. He and his peers have seen women that were told that they were fine by ultrasound techs and ended up still having placenta previa and bled out during labor. Yikes!

I was told I had placenta previa at 15 weeks. I had bad bleeding and was in the hospital three times then they finally figured out it was the previa. The doctor put me on bedrest at 14 weeks and I went to see a high risk doctor last week who compared my ultrasounds and told me the placenta previa had moved up alittle. I go back at 22 weeks to see if I have anymore progress.
