Fixated or stubborn?

My son has recently (last 3 months) started repeating himself, for example he will come to me and say "I want apple juice" and I acknowledge him by saying "ok I will get you some" if I don't get it right then and there he will keep repeating himself, "I want some apple juice" "I said I want some apple juice" and I respond by saying "yes I know you want apple juice, I told you I will get you some" and his response "I want apple juice"
It's like this with everything, if we are out running errands its "I wanna play at McDonald's". "no we are going home" "I said I want McDonald's!" "and I said no"
Then the crying starts with McDonald's sputtering in and out.
Honestly it's really getting on my nerves it's like he doesn't process responses or he's just really stubborn. Any advise?

Sounds normal to me

How old is he? My 3 year old does this all the time. Hoping it is just a phase because it drives me bananas.

Sounds normal imo. I would just look him in the eyes, if possible, and say "You want apple juice, I am going to get you some in just a minute. Okay?".

my nephew would do this at 6-8 yrs old. he would hope you would give in. little different i know, but i figured a way to get him to stop. he would want to play DH's xbox and we'd say not right now, he would keep on, till i would tell him "one more time and u won't play it at all while you're here."
