Baby food in pouches?

posted 30th Jun '12
Happy Baby and Plum Baby. I'm not talking about the pouches where you let the baby suck the food out of the top, but a pouch that you just tear open and put into a bowl.

I bought a few to try. Both brands. He liked the Chick Chick by Happy Baby. That's the only one I've tried so far. It's chicken, quinoa and veggies. Organic and obviously no added sugar or salt.

I've also tried the Gerber stage 3 dinners. They're okay. My son is like 25ish lbs and just less than a week shy of eight months old.

Oh I guess I forgot to ask if anyone has tried it and if they prefer that versus canned baby food. I don't have a lot of time to make my own baby food so for now I must feed him some sort of baby food.

I like the Grerber in the plastic containers, stores easier IMO. Plus they are easier for us to recycle, since we don't have much glass.

Yeah same here, I get a lot of those. But I don't think they offer the dinners in the plastic, the stage 3 food. I get him tons of the fruit and veggies though and the occasional oatmeal mixed with fruit.

We've done the chicken and turkey pouches. My son is EXTREMELY picky so at first he would gag on it (because he's a drama king and it was SLIGHTLY chunkier than normal) but I used to mix it with stage 3 dinners and he loved it. hahaha. my son is a piglet..did I mention that?

My little man is too! The pouches seem like so much food but he eats it all with no problem!

I was on the Happy Baby site and I saw that the redid the pouches and the ingredients are a lot better now.

One of these days I might get ballsy and try and make a dinner for him myself. I just need a processor!

I always wanted to try making my own baby food. They make it so easy these days...but still...less work is less work when you have a toddler with you 24/7. We took the lazy/expensive route and just bought baby food. Now he'll still eat gerber foods (they make toddler meals) but mostly just eats what we're eating now =)
