1st OB appt.

i have my 1st one on the 21 at 18 weeks 2 days. and im totaly freaking out lol. what do they do at 1st appt.? or what was done at urs? and since ill be 18 weeks will they do an u/s? or do you make another appt. for that?

my first appointment was about 13 wks and i got an ultrasound to confirm i was pregnant, they gave me a due date and prenatal vitamins. Thats all i can remember, lol.

I went to my first appointment at 19 weeks cuz of issues with medicaid and stuff... and at mine they did a pap smear, tons of blood tests, pee in a cup, and I got to have my gender ultrasound since I was pretty far along, but since she wasn't cooperating at the time, we scheduled another one for 4 weeks later. Every doctor is different though. But you'll most likely have one to make sure everything is okay with baby! Good luck!! 

My first they did a pap, took blood, and u/s to confirm due date and gave me prenantal vitamins.

I got a physical. they will ask about your fam history if there is cancers diabetes etc...etc.. mine set me up for a date for an ultra sound.

Oh because of how far along you are they may do the blood test for quad screaning. They just take blood.

They ask you a million and one questions. You pee in a cup. Probably stick your finger to check iron. Check blood pressure and weight. It depends on the dr.'s office as to wether they will do an u/s. Some have the portable machines or machines in the room and do them more ofen. Others (like mine) have to schedule ultraounds with the ultrasound technician or the hospital. Good luck though!

if i already have prenatals will they give more to me?

My first one was at 7 weeks. They really didn't do much with me. He checked my uterus and my belly and gave me a mamogram, asked if I had prenates and suggested a folic acid supplement. He also gave me a pregnancy test and tested my urine for glucose and protein. Blood pressure and weight but they do that at every appointment. Gave me information and magazines. It's not really scary it's ok.

does it coast more to do it at the hospital..my medicaid still hasnt come through but i made an appt anyway.

i am having my first OB appt on the 13th adn i hate needles so hopefully i do okay im really scared i dont know what to expect either but hopefully i get o find out what it is lately ive been calling it a GIRL so idk if im right or not let me know what happens at yours!!

I'm not sure. But I know with SC Medicaid they go back and cover the cost if you've already got it done. I just told my doctor that it hasn't came through and they said just to bring in the card when it does.
