re: Hiding from Toddlers...

posted 9th May
I always have to hide from my son! He wants to eat all the time. Like the other mommies I usually wait for the "good" stuff when he is asleep.

I hide from my kids too and never eat anything REALLY good until they're sleeping

I guess I just need to wait until bed time! That's just so far away!!!!

I guess I go a step farther. I wait until they have been in bed and I know they have been asleep for a while. I kept getting caught when a kid would pop up to "go to the bathroom" or for "one more kiss" or whatever they thought of as a reason to get up one more time.

LOL! I can see that! Geez, I was told parenting would be hard! But, no one warned me about this!

For me it's especially goodies she wants but even if I have a salad she's right there, which would be great except she'll just eat all my cheese and bacon bits off it! That's just not right!

I do this! If I want a soda or something sweet, I wait until she's napping or something. Then I can enjoy it in peace   I HATE sharing good food lol

I can't tell you how hard this made me laugh! I am so glad I am not the only one eating in the bathroom so my 2 year old doesn't steal my food.

ha, my kids are the same way! What's really gross is when they decide they don't like what's on my plate after all and spit it back on the plate.. and not on a clear spot.. right back on the food =S.

My son does this too. When he was younger I made the mistake of letting him walk around at a family dinner! WRONG ANSWER! He was going after EVERYONE'S plate! lol. My MIL about killed me the other night. We went over to her house and walked in on them laying in the floor eating ice cream sundae's while whatching a movie. Of course, my son goes and sits right in front of them and opens his mouth and says 'AHHHH!' LMAO! And of course Grandma can't say no!

OMG I am laughing so much right now, good to know that the selfishness is shared (oxy moron I know!) I sometimes have a hard time getting my girl to eat so when I do make a healthy but yummy snack I make sure I make a bit more for her appetite and let her eat off my plate, but I too wait until bedtime to really enduldge, besides the really good stuff is not really that good for them anyways so I don't feel too bad hoarding my goodies...that being said, she started at a very young age mooching so to speak off my plate, when she just started solids and mommy was eating dinner she would sit under my chin and open her mouth for me to feed her what i was eating like a bird, some may think this is gross but if i didn't give her what she wanted she let the whole world know...besides, that's how they did it in the cave man era lol!!!

I am glad I am not the only one. My son will hardly eat anything that is given to him to eat. If you are eating it, he will eat it all for you. Everyone in the house knows you have to share with him.

He's 18 months and "No" isn't in his vocabulary. I made h im breakfast and he saw I had cereal, and he wanted my breakfast and not his own. Agravation!
