My neighbors daughter has Cancer :(

So my neighbor said her daughter was complaining of a stomach ache for a couple days. She didnt really pay attention because my step daughter and her daughter play around a lot and are always on the trampoline. Well she took her to the ER on Thursday and they admitted her right away. They thought it was her appendix and did an ultrasound. Well they found a mass the size of a softball. She has cancer and was immediately scheduled for surgery the next day. Her mom called me and she was in shock and disbelief everything is happening so fast. Well she went into surgery this morning at 8am and finished at 4pm. She was in fair condition. Well i just got another update...they were able to get 95% out and put a port in. She is going to need Chemo and it turns out it was Muscle cancer. This little girl is 9, shes my step daughter best friend. My heart is breaking for her and her mom. Please if you pray add her to your prayers tonight. Or send her good thoughts. She is in a lot of pain and we wont get to see her till Monday.

omgosh. that is every parents biggest nightmare. I just prayed for a quick recovery for her. Chemo is no joke! Poor little thing.

UPDATE: well sort of. I went to go visit her today and its just a sad sad place. I held back my tears and tried to cheer her up. She is in so much pain and cant really move from surgery. She is only allowed liquids today and looks sad. I took her a bunch of coloring books and cards, notebooks, colored pencils, old maid cards.

Her mom told me that medicaid doesnt provide food for parents anymore. Shes a single mom and was working 2 jobs but just lost one. Shes on the verge of loosing CCMS benefits for daycare. She has 2 other kiddos as well. Poor lady is all stressed out but she says she hasnt cried because she has to be strong for everyone.

I wish i could help her more but we are pretty strapped too. Anyone know of any programs in Texas? Shes a Cooks Childrens if that matters.

She needs to ask around more at the hospital, they do *at least the one if Fort Worth* provide the parent with food. You just go down to the Sir Eats a Lot Grill and show proof of the childs stay and they give you a plate.
