C-section question

Should discharge be coming out of the incision. Most of it is closed but a part of the incision came open a little. I'm keeping it clean and trying to air it out so it can heal. I had my Csection May 16.

what color is it? does it smell?
I had a little bit of discharge the first few days but it was pretty much closed on the outside by day 5. I would have your dr look at it.

Looks brownish to me. I go for my appointment next week so I guess the doctor will look at the incision then.

I personally don't think thats normal. I never had any discharge & mine wasn't open at all. I would call your OB. Did you have your 3 week check up yet?

I was only scheduled for a 6week check up and that's next week.

Really? You're suppose to have two. One at three weeks & one at six. The three week one is just to check your incision. At least, I think it was three weeks. I can't remember it was almost a year ago. lol.

A week after my csection a nurse came and took the staples out and put steri strips on it and later that night my incision came completely open again. I didn't go to the doctor I just put gauze on it and kept it clean.

definitely talk to your dr with a csection you're suppose to be seen at 2 weeks pp and 6 weeks pp it definitely shouldn't be leaking any kind of discharge this late in the game... i had my csection 3 weeks ago and its totally healed up, its been healed completely for close to a week now...i would at least call your dr if not go in because you could have a yeast infection or a skin infection and you definitely don't want it getting any worse. good luck!!

You had you c-section on my birthday! I only had a 6wks check and had staples out b4 i left the hospital. I would call the doctor but if its not red and its not extra painful or bright red blood i think your ok.

Yeah, you really should of seen your OB the moment it came open so they could clean it & pack it. It shouldn't be leaking anything. & you really should call your OB. You don't want an infection.

Mine was the same, about 3 weeks after?.. u shudnt leave it another week to be seen by somebody, you should go as soon as you can, youwill most probably just be given antibiotics and a dressing maybe xx
