OMFG! I would have slapped her! How the hell do DOCTORS not know that you aren't supposed to do that?!
Definitely switch and find a doctor who is actually familiar with intact babies!!

I would definitely be changing if you never even saw the pediatrician... That doesn't sound like a very professional acting practice to me. NP's are not licensed to do the same thing as the doctors right? Im not 100% sure about that but I know my uncle is studying for a nurse practitioner and said he might as well go ahead with becoming a doctor.

It's normal, I do it after every bath pull back the foreskin as much as it goes but dont force it clean it bc gunk can get stuck in there and cause infections. Not a big deal kids that are circumcised dont need to worry bc they have no forskin and it gets cleaned eaiser. You start at this age and as theyget older it gets easier to pull back. Unless you with till their older and it will hurt them alot more bc theyll have to pull it back at once. How do you think grown men clean themselves

My son isn't circumcised, but he pulls it back all the time when he plays with it between diaper changes......
I'm so confused!! Is this not OK?? I've never messed with it, just wiped him clean and that was that, and we've never had any problems with infections or anything.
Now I'm not sure if I'm doing anything wrong.

If he can pull it back, then it's retracted, at least partially. He won't be forcibly pulling it back. Just never pull it back more than it will go without resistance, because you've hit the fused part then. Before it starts to retract, it won't go back at all.

See, I've just cleaned his penis and his little testes and nothing else, no pulling anything back.. I just didn't know if he had ripped it his self or what....made me nervous there for a minute. So I guess if he's not complaining about it, he's fine?

Yeah if it was forcibly pulled back, there'd most likely be infections in the tears and stuff. If he can pull it back comfortably himself, it's likely it's started to retract naturally.

lol I know how grown men clean themselves my husband is NOT circ'ed but his foreskin is retracted obviously so it makes sense for him to pull back his foreskin and clean it. You wouldn't pull back a girl's clitoral hood to clean her stuff would you?

I was told that if you dont do it and get it use to it now that when he gets older and he does pull it back for the first time it will tear and be really painful. ((This has happened to someone I know.....))
