When will people realize?!

posted 28th Jun '12
That you are NOT going to get advice on how to speed up early labor on this site?! I swear, no matter how many posts there are on that subject, people just don't seem to learn! Yes, TERM is 37 weeks but FULL TERM is 40! Jeez! Kids these days!! And yes, I know I'm only 20. Okay, my mini rant is over!

They won't. It is what it is. They'll also always think that we can magically look into our computer screens and know if they are pregnant.

When will you realise that a lot of first time mothers don't know much and are on this site for advice and help, not to be made out to be an idiot.

It's kind of like the "bg bitches" posts, they always go to the same place. I do think people get a little nutty over the inducing early posts, I mean there are some extreme ones, like 36 wks and under that I understand an ass chewing being handed out.

There is a lot of misinformation women get about pregnancy, from EVERYONE, a person you don't even know will give you advice about your pregnancy that's more than likely wrong. I don't see why people can't just set the ladies straight and be done with it instead of getting upset about it, or irritated, or whatever.

there are a lot of questions that are "stupid" and get asked over and over again. If it bothers you, don't read them.

This! I was a first time mum and at 40+ weeks I was looking to find ways to help get things moving, not everyone tries to start labor prior to 40 weeks

Eh. There's no harm in asking anything. And some people do give answers, walk, have sex, yada yada. I'm one of them. Why? Because nothing they do is going to make them go into labor any faster if their body isn't ready anyways. So if they want to make themselves sick eating pineapple or chicken curry, go for it I say.

I understand what you ladies are saying about not having being mean. But they obviously have some form of internet, so I don't see why they can't just look up information on pregnancy. I myself am a first time mother and I will admit that at first I knew nothing about pregnancy, but I started reading anything and everything as soon as we started TTC. Its not that hard.

Its easier to understand when you ask people who have gone through the experience already. I personally feel that talking to some ladies on here have helped me understand things a hell of a lot better than a book or a website has.

it might be stupid but first time moms are nervous and they don't know what to expect. i think it's horrible that the women here are so smurfing rude all the time. i don't think ha;f of the realize it's very possible to answer a question without sounding like a bitch.

Because they don't know that it's wrong. When a person has been told one thing their entire adolescent life and pregnancy the idea of questioning it doesn't really register. I thought women were only pregnant for nine months throughout my entire first pregnancy, I also thought that 37 wks was full term. Sue me, it's what I was told by people I trusted and my OB never made a distinction between term and full term.

Sometimes it's easier to talk to someone who has went through the same thing and you always get a faster response on bg.

I hope you feel better. People probably ask questions like that because some doctors actually induce a woman at 38 weeks or whatever just because she is miserable. It doesn't matter if they do ask anyways, everyones response is always baby will come when baby is ready and ARE YOU A SmUrfING IDIOT YOU STUPID BITCH YOU ARE MISERABLE HOW DARE YOU WANT TO HAVE YOUR CHILD A WEEK EARLY. I mean come on, who gives a smurf.

Maybe they just want advice from other mothers, rather than just looking it up via a search engine. Although there is one thread on BG look it up don't start a whole new thread...
