my baby was diagnosed with dilatation of left renal pelvis

posted 28th Jun '12
Hey everyone, please excuse my spelling its no very good. well my strory is, that around 24 week my baby was diagnosed with dilatation on both renal pelvis. im now 32 weeks, I had an ultrasound on monday and the tech told me that his right kidney looked normal but the left one was still dilatated. I know that there is a chance that it will normalize by birth or within a few weeks after birth, I just want to know if someone has been through this and what has been the outcome. Im very positive, but i still would like to read if someone else has been through this or maybe have some info to share with me, that would b great!! Thanks for ur time

i wouldnt worry about it at all, its very common in boys. my son was actually born with his left dialted, and it normalized quite soon. even with all his heart issues and him being on bypass twice, his kidney function is still perfect.
