Its a drug, and that needs to be addressed...It can cause people to lose their jobs, go to prison, or worse it can get your children taken away from you. Any good parent would talk to their kids about this.

even tho im not against smoking weed, i agree with you. there are no benefits for my child from childhood to teen years. Even tho i enjoyed it very much i did notice that even the most productive stoners i knew were still slackers and careless. Sure, they were smart but they care more about being "free" than growing up

once my kid is 18, if she can find a way to smoke it legally, well then good for her. As long as she still takes good care of herself

how dose this come across as say okay your a teen now go smoke its just like sex you tell them when they become a teen its good for them to know the pros and cons i know a lot of "teens" that didnt have sex till they where adults. but they still knew what sex was as a teen.

Satire aside, we had DARE come to our elementary schools. I remember the officer showing us common places where dealers would hide their stash. One was in a fake oil filter. I didn't fully comprehend drugs, but all I needed to know was that they were bad and people I shouldn't be associated with did them.

I still feel this way. I moved out of my old complex (aside from stalker-neighbor), because I would go out to play with my kids and get a continuous wiff of burning bud. I don't need to smell that junk. I've tried weed and man, what a waste. It's horrible. I just don't get the allure.

exactly... im not saying sit your kid down at 10 and tell them all about it there will be a time that they will want to know about it. and i will not have any problem tellin her i will let her know that it is illegal. but that is still has pros and cons. just like everything else.

my daughter is 6... and i talk to her about drugs on her cognitive level... as well as my older boys... the sooner you talk about drug, the better...

sex, on the other hand... ick... I'm waiting till the boys are 12 and my daughter is 11...i dont know... i dont even want to think about that one

I'm not saying teens should smoke, thats their choice if they chose too.
Its like those stupid Anti Smoking ads, you tell your kids for years the harm smoking can do, and yet, one day, you find a lighter, and a pack of cigarettes in their backpack.
Teens are going to do what they want, you can tell them over and over again not have sex till their married, and BAM your daughter is coming up to you at 15, wanting birth control to avoid getting pregnant.

DARE is what got me interested in drugs in the first place. My son won an award from then and he ended up almost going to prison for smoking pot.

marijuana is no where close to cocaine crack meth or anydrug like that. i rather be open whit my child then to make it seem like the forbidden fruit. i fell if you treat it like that your more likely to want to try it.

seeing as how drugs are put in kids faces from a young age, i will probably have to talk to her about it pretty early. But at a young age, like 6 years old, all i will say is its bad. Its "against the rules". I want to keep my little girl innocent as long as possible. My parents were too honest too early with me- one of the cons of having young parents

my teens arent going to do what they want... when they are 18 they can.. but as long as I am legally and morally responsible for them... I will be up their butt, on their ass...

its not unheard of forteens not to do drugs...
