How can I fix this?

posted 27th Jun '12
Everyone kept telling me to put my DD down... I wouldn't listen. I held her every second and watched over her as she slept. I told them no she's my baby and I'll hold her as much as I want and that a baby can't be spoiled. Well she is nearly 4 months and I'm paying for it. She won't let me put her down now. Not for one minute. She won't nap during the day unless I nap with her. I love that she loves me so much but I'm exhausted. Last night was ridiculous. She wanted to hang out with mommy all night! I would just like to be able to cook, eat and shower!
Any advice how I can get my baby girl to let me put her down long enough to even put away laundry?

** CIO is NOT an option.. But I'm wondering if it's just as bad to let her fuss for a few minutes?? Not full out cry just whine a bit and talk to her while I do things around the house.

I put my son down and he was still his way till 18 months or so. Get a mobi wrap or another carrier and then you can do whatever and baby will be happy!

Invest in a good baby carrier.

Because you aren't spoiling her, she isn't spoiled rotten, and there's nothing wrong with either one of you for wanting and needing to be close.

Get a seven slings carrier, or baby backpack maybe?

Try swaddling her and laying her in a swing or something that moves. Its ok for her to cry for a few minutes though. Dont feel bad.

Lol she is still super little mamma and she still needs you more than you could possibly know. In another month or two when she is sitting up and crawling it will be SOOOO much easier. But until then try wearing her. I wore my son all the time and it made life so much easier at that age.

I'd put her down and walk away. I still do that with my 3.5 year old.
I don't have time to deal with your tantrum. You're not bleeding or dying, you're fine. lol

Fussing & crying are different. Give her things to do, lay her on the floor with toys, put her in her swing with a couple toys.

at not quite 4 months old though?  that is hardly a tantrum at that age.

I get that. That's for now.
4 mos, I didn't have a carrier or anything. I would put her down and let her cry while I at least went to the bathroom.
CIO worked for us. Others, maybe not so much.

I agree.

OP, basically what the other Mama's said. Wear her, or do something that will distract her for a few minutes.
