ok, so when i first got pregnant i found out from a home test and i week or so later i went to the doctors and they gave me a blod test to confirm... i was about 4 weeks according to the test which meant that i was about three weeks when i took the home test... since then i have joined the military and am pregnant again... when i first thougt i was pregnant i wen to the doctors and again took another blood test and it came back totally NEGATIVE... but apparently i was cuz two weeks later i went back and was a little more then five weeks... i dont uinderstand how they couldn't tell at about 3 1/2 weeks that i was pregnant but two years before that another place could... How is that? and finally why Everytime i go to the doctors and get an ultrasound, it calculates differntly of how far i am... im supose to be 24wks 2day and it'll say 25wks 4days or something like that it never stays the same!

ultrasounds are never 100%.. i just had one lst week and i was supposed to be 37 weeks but my baby was measuring 35-36 weeks. the doctor said it was normal. as for the positive/negative results i have no idea! i wouldnt worry about it though as long as everything looks good now. good luck!

because you may have had a qualative blood test - this has a detection level of 25, if you are under 25 they say not pregnant. However your levels may have just been slghtly lower than that, thus a false negative.
U/S upto 7 weeks accuracy is +/- 3 days. After(i think its 12weeks)the u/s scans only have an accuracy of +/- 10 days. Its the same way that they can be upto 1lb wrong in estimating the babys weight.
