Quoting A&J+Little Bug(7):" Yeah, I think I'm pretty much ready to find a new job.. I just don't know how open many places will be ... [snip!] ... leave and not even being there for a year.. Walmart you have to be there for a year to have maternity leave for 6 weeks.."Yep. I am in the process of trying to find a new job. I blew my first interview and then with the second one I got to the second interview and they took the people with experience in that field over me even though you are required to go to training for six weeks. I am like, how are you even supposed to get experience when noone will give it to you I wonder?
Quoting Raindancer:" Yep. My husband was one of those and they had been looking for a reason to fire him for awhile."
Quoting Finally #2:" Your walmart sounds crazy! My husband is full time, not management, and has been working there 3 years ... [snip!] ... thing that frustrates him about his job is that he cant seem to get a promotion. But hes had several raises. We dont hate it."I was going to get a minor promotion (customer service to customer service manager) until I came back from my LOA. I had the csm numbers and was working as one and while I was gone they took away my numbers for it and refused to put me back in the position and then we got a new manager that was looking for Csms but said she wouldn't take me because I was a few minutes late like three times. Not enough to count against me though. Then my dad got sick and died and my uncle got sick and died so that resulted in two different writeups. Well one verbal and one written. Then a few months later I got really sick like I spent three days on my bathroom floor so I was written up again. I have one more write up to go and then term and the thing is that with my little bro shipping out in two weeks I will be taking the day he is leaving off rather they like it or not so I should be getting my final write up then unless I can get someone to take my hours which is unlikely. My husband had been working there for almost six years when he was fired and for me it is only five. The thing is I have always been scared to find another job but that is because I have given myself the illusion that I have some kind of job security because of working there so long but really that is so far from the truth.

Quoting Cassi♥DLK[29]♥:" When I worked at WalMart it was NOTHING like you ladies are saying. They would be a little late ... [snip!] ... I never had a problem, and the last time I worked there I was making about $2 over min. wage, and working nearly 40 hrs/wk."Here you get about 50 cents over min wage and you are lucky to get 30 hours a week.
