I used melatonin in a higher dose for insomnia. It's what your body naturally makes for sleep. It's the best supplement to use for that purpose

I give it to my 9 year old. His pediatrician is completely okay with it. She did say not to give it to him every night. I usually give it 2-3 times a week and sometimes even less than that.

I give it to my 5 yr old daughter sometimes. Maybe 3 times a week. I dont give it to her till she has been layed down for an hr & hasn't fallen to sleep. Sometimes she will even ask for it if shes overly tired & jus cant stop here brain to fall asleep. Hers is in a chewable pill form though that taste horrible

UPDATE : Ok so i figured id try it because my daughter has been sleeping in my bed since she was 4 months old... ( i know, my fault )... anyway the past few months shes constantly waking up if im not laying next to her and she screams and cries.. its so hard cause i cant even have people over cause shes always waking up and i have to go lay with her again till she falls asleep its soo annoying .. so i decided to buy the melatonin i found it at gnc for $7!. i gave it to her last night ( the full dose ).. she did fall asleep prettyy quick ( in like 10 mins ) when normally it takes her 45 mins or more... but after an hour she woke up screaming cause she somehow knew i wasnt laying with her..then she fell asleep after like 20 mins.. and i got back up and she woke up again after another hour.. although it did make her fall asleep quickkk, it didnt KEEP her asleep.. =(

Yea thats exactly how my 5 yr old daughter is to. She sometimes wakes up at night when i give it to her & wants me to lay with her. It doesnt always keep her asleep (it does sometimes if shes worn out from the day) but it does help her fall asleep fast. Some ppl say it causes night terrors but she has never seemed like they do to her. Idk how to get her to go to sleep on her own without laying with her till she falls asleep but i wish i could. I have a 10 month old son i EBF that wakes up every hr as well... ugh

whats the dose on the bottle say? The stuff we have is the 5MG chewable pill. It did the same thing to my son, so his doc said to up the dose. So I give him 2 now, instead of one (10MG) and he has been sleeping throught the night since we started that

he will be 3 next month! Dont be scared cause you CANT give him too much, but if you want to be safe call his doc. How old is yours?? If not able to do a chewable yet, give him 6 MG
