Hahaha. Josh says it's because he has a hard time using the word "vagina" when referring to his daughter. I dunno. New daddies are so cute

depends. my brother and sister have been taught
daidai(butt) Dah Daye
gigit(penis) Gee Geet (hard G sounds like McGee)
shoshot(vagina) Sho (like sho nuff) Shaot (kinda long o sound? gotta hear it to be able to understand lol)

Quoting Joel's mum:“ We have always just called it his "doodle". He knows what it is and knows what it is for (as much as ... [snip!] ... sounds like they have been read a medical dictionary each night at bedtime.... But each to their own and I respect your choice.”

i respect parent's choice also, but to me dumbing it down makes it seem like there is something wrong with the words penis and vagina. and i dont think there is, and further i kinda feel like if my kids think i'm ashamed of the word then they'll think theyshould be and not want to talk about problems they have with it, or sex when the time comes. idk just my thought, and if i saw a kid in the grocery store that said his penis hurt, i wouldn't have anymore of a problem than if he said his wang hurt. that's just me though.

Fair enough... Honestly, I dont have a problem with other ppl choosing to teach their chn the correct words.... I just find that kids grow up way too fast and some are too adult for their age.. As a teacher, I see it a lot. It might be seen as dumbing it down but I like to think of it as keeping him a kid for just a little longer....I want him wise but not too street wise, if that makes sense.... I just want him to grow in his own time.

It doesnt bother me but we usually say "pee pee" because thats what they do with it lol I dont care if they hear it said a different way but I just see it as easier to understand esspecially considering my oldest has ADHD she doesnt pay attention if you use seperate words for the same thing. Now the butt is called "ass" and poop is usually called "shit" but thats about it lol

we call rykers balls testicls (sp?) and i try to remember to call it a penis but becuz of babysitter my sisters kids and the call it a winky... it comes out that way sometimes... but ryker is only 3 months im trying to just say penis, i dont have a problem with cute names, but the same reason we dont say ba-ba for bottle, or night-night for going to sleep is becuz i really dont want my kid to think thats what it really is called, also i want people to know what he is talking about when he ask for something...

Sometimes you don't have a choice.

My friend's daughter Tahareh used to run around naked and Christy would say "ohhhh look at the nakie baby...or look at you all nakies"

anyway...later the kid started calling her butt her butt and her fronthind her nakies.

It was cute as hell.

ps i will be teaching my kids penis and vagina.

I think I will try my best to teach Faryn "vagina" and "penis" but you never know what's going to come out of their mouths. At night I carry her up to bed and tell her to go "ni-night". And when she pees in her diaper, I call her Ms. Peabody. So whatever comes out, comes out. She's not going to become utterly confused as she grows older. I've noticed many of the women on this site aren't confused and neither am Iso I'm not too worried about it.

I will be teaching my princess to say "Susy" for a girl and "willie" short for "willie the one eyed wonder worm" for a boy. I was always brought up to say susy and willie.
