So now that Im a single mom...

Im scared as hell. Im a waitress at a chinese resturant and only make 1,000 a month my bills are right at 1,000 and i think ill be getting somewhere around 300 in child support. So ill have 300 to live off a month, Im also in college and I really dont want to stop going just because I have to work more. I want to get school done so I can be able to provide a good life for my son but I still have 4 years to go  , I just dont know how im going to do it. I already feel like I dont spend enough time with my son as it is and Ive been worrying about it so much I cant even concentrate on my school work. Any advice and suggestions of what to do and how to handle everything is greatly appreciated. Right now im thinking its going to be impossible to support myself and my son  .

cut some of your bills the ones that arent necessary!

my sister made it thru 4 yrs of school by hereself. raised her DD by herself and all without child support. and not on county assistance.

she worked fulltime and went to school full time (nursing) finished her degree and is now an RN working ...

it all can be done keep your faith and work hard...
it always helps me to remember that there is ALWAYS someone who is worse off than yourself

What do you have that isn't a necessity in the way of expenses?

I cant cut anymore bills. Ive already cut down as much as I could I have rent, daycare,utilities and internet for online classes. I dont see how people can work full time and go to school fulltime. How do they ever find time to spend with LO or have a few hrs of free time so they dont go crazy? I know theres people in worse conditions than me but it doesnt help that as soon as BD broke up with me he got a new car and a really high paying job while im here suffering and just paid over a 1,000 in his bills last week when he was jobless then he just smurfing gets up and leaves out of no where.

Nothing at all. Rent, utilities, internet for online classes and daycare. I dont even have a car.

When me and DH separted it was hard. By the time LO was a little over a year I was working 30-40 hours and school 4 days a week. Got up at 5, got to work around 6:30, off by 3, home around 4:30, and school 6-10. It was hard and very tiring but worth it. I did live with family for awhile so that helped. I would suggest daycare assistance.

I already have childcare assistance and foodstamps.

What about finding another or different job? I know being a waitress it can be unreliable. It's also hard finding someone to work with your schedule.

I guess thats what Im going to have to do which sucks because I love my job.

I know it stinks but you have to do what you have to do. Just make sure you don't settle for a job. Make sure you can enjoy it a bit or it will be terrible.

How about a roommate to split rent?

I can barely afford daycare with one kid, i have no idea how I am going to to it with 3. Daycare assistance wait around here is a year

Yea thats what I was thinking but all of my friends are married and I dont like the idea of living with a stranger and I dnt even know where to start looking for one. Craigslist? lol.. Im so thankful I have my childcare assistance or id probably be homeless right now. I went to apply for HUD and they said the waiting list was 2 and a half years 

You don't have family you can live with?

I was in your position at one point, and I just worked my way up. Hard-work and dedication is what it took. It kills me every moment when im not with my son, but if I want a great life for my son, then that's the sacrfice I have to make. You'll get through it if you truly want it. Maybe looking for a job that pays more or looking over your bills to see what you can "cut-off`" and are able to live without? (I use to live off of $200 each month---the day I got rid of my car was the day I saved a ton of money lol)

I would have my mom but her husband is an smurf and treats me and my son like crap. I lived with them before and basically he gave me deadline to get out. And they only have a tiny two bedroom house with 3 people living there already. I think im just gunna have to get a roomate or a different job.
