re: Drivers License

My husband is 26 and never had his license. People at work ask me why and he honestly has never had the need to get one. We live on a bus route, which is he same house he grew up in from the time he was 13ish til now. So if his mom was unable to take him somewhere, he took the bus, walked, or had a friend come and get him. And now he has me and a few of his coworkers who take him to and from work. I kind of wish he would get it because I don't like to drive all the time. A few weeks ago we took a random road trip and I ended up having to drive the whole way there and back, only to stop for gas, drinks and food. he didn't think it was smart for me to stop and take a short nap lol

The more you drive around the less that fear will become. I mean don't get me wrong when I got to very large cities and drive through traffic I get nervous again but I just remember to use all my mirrors so I know where each drive is at all times (make sure you have plenty of space around you in case you had to move over b/c of some idiot..lol )

I have my G1, which is basically a beginners. I'll be getting my G2, almost a full license, after babe is born. I'll be 24 in January and I've had my G1 for 4 years in March lol.

i'm 22 and just got my license about 2 months ago! best feeling ever! at 16 i too drivers ed and passed, took my written and failed, twice! so then i moved on with life... while i was pregnant(or just before) i went and took the written test and passes and got my permit, but then i lost it.. theres an expiration date and i had my child and knew i needed it, i have 2 kids.. lol''

so not knowing when my expiration date was i knew i didn't want to take the written over so i just sent my paperwork in and they sent me back a date for 2 weeks later, scared smurfless i went and passes thank god!!!


i suggest you get it, it's so much more better and you feel like you have so much more freedom! you'll learn more and more each day you drive.

I hope so. I'm trying to get my license by the end of july so I have a better chance of getting my ex's car when we go to court. ( I have the kids more than he does, and his gf lives with him, works at the same place and she has a car) I doubt I'll get it by then though.

I'm 29 and don't have mine. I find it really scary but I'm getting better about it and hope to get my permit sometime in the next few weeks. I don't anticipate actually driving on my own for a while though haha

I don't think it's pathetic. More people are afraid to drive then I thought.

Thanks, my husband and family have no problem letting me know how pathetic it is. They just don't understand how much I want it and hate asking for rides. I freak out just thinking about having to take the driving test, so I know it would be 10 times worse when I actually take it. Plus, I grew up in Washington DC and I never needed to drive cause there was public transportation everywhere.

I live about half an hour away from the major shops. And am going back to work soon, I need to be able to get to the daycare if something happens.

I didnt get my license until I was 20 years old and Ailey was 3 months old! I never needed them as a teen and I met my husband straight outta high school and he had his license. I got my permit or temps when I was 19 right after we got married and I found out I was pregnant ..But I never went an took the test because I was to focused on being pregnant and having a high risk pregnancy. I drove here and there with my husband (He taught me to drive) while I was pregnant with my temps because he was over 21, I actually hit a telephone pole in a parking lot once and I thought I had broke my water but had just pee my pants from freaking out LOL I was like 30 weeks or so and it was humiliating to get to the hospital and them say um honey thats just urine! Since I have had my license though I now cant imagine life with out them. Going through a Divorce, working full time, school full time, and two toddlers Ha there is no way I could depend on someone else for that all the time! I was never scared though and I cant believe how many are and thank god I am not for the freedom of driving for me is like the wings to a bird... I love it! Good Luck Kendra! You can do it girly!
