Quoting ma ♥:" That's a good idea, mixing the foods. I just feel like it's so difficult to get him to eat. Lately, ... [snip!] ... start thinking he can just NOT eat what I give him, because I'll make him what he prefers later on anyway.... know what I mean?"

I got it from a Parent's magazine article.

They talk about how some picky eaters are behaviorally picky, as in they do it because they can, but most picky eaters are actually experiencing sensory issues with foods, whether it's the texture, taste, color, whatever.

I'd never thought about it like that before. And they said that slowly introducing foods, even just starting by seeing it, was the best way to sort of desensitize them to that, and get them more ok with everything.

My son isn't a picky eater so if he doesn't touch dinner it usually means he's just not hungry. There are a couple things he wont eat because of texture issues so I just don't make it again next time (ie, he doesn't like angel hair pasta so I'll use shells or elbows for spaghetti)
