I don't think it sounds to weird personally. Maybe they accept walk ins and told him to come at 1. Maybe he's just going to be their "1 o'clock".

If you are so concerned, call tomorrow and make sure he in fact as an appointment at one.

OP- Just go in, Doesnt matter if its with him or not, At least its getting done.. Kinda silly your upset, If you wanted it done a certain way why didnt you just do it yourself and make the appointment?
