Jewish people have a covenant with God. They weren't merely "encouraged" to circumcise, they were commanded and then told specifically HOW:

This is a copy and paste, but I cannot link on my phone:

In Genesis 17:12, God specifically directed Abraham to circumcise newborn males on the eighth day. Why the eighth day? In 1935, professor H. Dam proposed the name “vitamin K” for the factor in foods that helped prevent hemorrhaging in baby chicks. We now know vitamin K is responsible for the production (by the liver) of the element known as prothrombin. If vitamin K is deficient, there will be a prothrombin deficiency and hemorrhaging may occur. Oddly, it is only on the fifth through the seventh days of the newborn male’s life that vitamin K (produced by bacteria in the intestinal tract) is present in adequate quantities. Vitamin K, coupled with prothrombin, causes blood coagulation, which is important in any surgical procedure. Holt and McIntosh, in their classic work, Holt Pediatrics, observed that a newborn infant has “peculiar susceptibility to bleeding between the second and fifth days of life.... Hemorrhages at this time, though often inconsequential, are sometimes extensive; they may produce serious damage to internal organs, especially to the brain, and cause death from shock and exsanguination” (1953, pp. 125-126). Obviously, then, if vitamin K is not produced in sufficient quantities until days five through seven, it would be wise to postpone any surgery until some time after that. But why did God specify day eight?

On the eighth day, the amount of prothrombin present actually is elevated above one-hundred percent of normal—and is the only day in the male’s life in which this will be the case under normal conditions. If surgery is to be performed, day eight is the perfect day to do it. Vitamin K and prothrombin levels are at their peak.

Your clitoral hood is NOT your clitoris.

A foreskin is NOT a penis...it serves the same function as a clitoral hood.

I think it's about time (that this becomes a movement). Female circumcision is illegal, so it's only befitting that the same goes for males. All jews and whoever else angry enough over it? Guess it's time to move..

It is still a part of the penis ffs lol.

Just like the clitoral hood is a part of a clitoris

Just like a fingernail is part of a finger

Just like a finger is part of a hand

Just like an arm is part of a body.

If they cut off the labia, they're cutting off the protection of the vagina. When they cut off the foreskin, they are cutting off the protection of the glans.

How common is it exactly and where is it common?

Google is your friend lol.

Mostly the places where Circing is popular, restoration is also popular. I've been researching it for a while now because SO wanted to (he's a yank), but they cut off so much that he's ineligible to fix it.

How common is it here? Because until I came to BG and heard this, I wasn't aware it was done to anyone. And the only people I've heard talk about it are from other countries.

I googled it a little bit ago. SO saw the before and after pics and the devices used for some restorations, this was his response....."  Ewwww, why the smurf would you want to do that to your penis?! No thanks! Mine can stay just the way it is, cut. Why would you be upset about getting circumcised as an infant? I'd be pissed if I wasn't"

I still don't see circumcision as abuse.

I think this is totally excellent.

IDGAF what your religious views are. Your religious "rights" end where another persons body begins. To remove a fully functioning, vital part of your childs body, because "God said so", is just disgusting. I don't really care who that offends. I am sick of people using religion as a way to take away the rights of another human being. Some religions allow GM of females, murder, forced marriage, underage sex etc. Should those things just be allowed because they are done in the name of religion. No.

Vital? Fully functioning?
I didnt get married until i was 40. I've had quite a few sex partners. overwhelmingly, they were circ'd. There is/was nothing "less-than-functioning" or "less-vital" about pleasure and performance.
I've also know of 3 men who have been circ'd as adults and were angry with their parents for NOT circing them as infants. Who knows how many men have THAT procedure as they dont broadcast it and there is no "movement."
