Quoting tata for now:" i dont need justification. wtf . And i wasnt saying ALL girls. pretty much every little girl i know is into that. and if they aren't, who cares? thats not that point here  "

It read really defensively, and that's the only logical reason to add in that "most girls are like that". I didn't say you said ALL I disagree that most are like that.

That you're reacting like this reinforces my initial belief.

My daughter loves make-up too. it's just a phase some go through. I let her wear some make-up for her ballet recital, but at home it's only clear lipgloss. You're not alone in your struggle

Quoting tata for now:" Yea she knows that they aren't colors. Idk why she always throws them in there though. "

Because it's cute!

hah, she sounds really sweet.

honestly. I meant to mention in my original response, that i paint my girls nails. Whenever they ask. Nail polish is okay for us. Makeup is not so much.

im not reacting negatively if thats what your thinking.

Its funny to me this is coming up in this thread. The other day i was telling someone i know IRL how Chloe loves everything princess, and the lady cut me off and in a rude was said "well duh, every girl loves princesses"
Kinda made me feel stupid, So thats the reason i put that in parenthesis.

Thank you for explaining. I don't see any need for you to be defensive, which is the other reason I reacted as I did to it seeming you were.

Quoting tata for now:" Do you let her put it on when she wants to?"

Yes. She also gets a spritz of perfume when I put it on and lipgloss when I do.

I let Lylian put on makeup whenever she wants, even if wer're going out in public, but I try to show her how to put it on modestly, and not cake it on like little girls do. But she also doesnt do it every day. The more you make it taboo the more shes probably gonna want to do it. She'll probably get sick of it after awhile, I would just let the phase run its course.

Quoting Little Bit's Momma:" You should reinforce that girls don't need make up to be pretty. But I think she just wants to play pretend ... [snip!] ... that beauty comes from with in then she will be fine   All the make up in the world can't cover up an ugly personality."

i totally agree w/this.. my daughter loves to dress up and do the make up lipgloss thing... but i always tell her shes too pretty and doesn't need make up to make her look pretty.

My daughter is 3 & she just recently started asking for makeup when we're getting ready to go out & she sees me putting it on. It's only happened twice so far & she only asks for lip gloss & the blush brush! I put the lip colored gloss on, and she just smiles so big! Then she takes the blush brush minus the blush, and does her cheeks..lol
I don't see anything wrong with it personally, but it is always best to let our girls know that makeup doesn't make you beautiful it just adds to your beauty   If she's having fun with it, then let her

My daughter is like this too. I let her wear makeup when she wants to as long as we are at home, if we leave the house I make her wash it off, because I know there would be some looks. Sounds like you have a little diva on your hands, my DD is the same way. She has to look perfect at all times, her hair, nails, clothes. My oldest daughter is opposite. I don't think there is anything wrong with it, it is just her personality.

Coralynn love make-up, she will be put it on every now and then, she has her own little caboodle with make-up in it. she has eye shadow, blush, lipgloss, brushes. However she doesnt go out in public with it on. she just does it at home. she likes princesses, this is what her party is going to be this year, but then she loves things boys love. she will pick a skirt one day and then she has a couple boy shirts she wants to wear.

i think you shouldnt make it taboo, but she needs to see that you dont need make up to be pretty.

Coralynn will ask do you think its pretty or im pretty. and we say yes, but you also look beautiful when you have this or this.

its probably a stage.
