Contractions

Do they hurt when they start out? Or just feel like tightening then become painful? What do back contractions feel like?

Mine didnt until after my water broke, I mean they hurt but not like terrible or anything, and back labor feels like something heavy is sitting on your lower back and putting a smurf ton of pressure and pain back there.. kinda like someone kicked you really really hard in the back.

the ones in the Back hurt me real bad I first got a tingle and then o my God  the ones in the front I did not feel but I am feeling them now!!! ouch!!!!

This is what my back feels like right now. But I don't feel anything in my stomach. So idk if it's contractions or my back just being sore.

Does it come and go in waves?

I felt like it was there for ten minutes or so felt better then came back. Now I don't really feel any pain so I'm waiting to see if it comes back. I feel like it was going down towards my ass too. Weird

if it keeps coming in waves i would say thats back labor

I had 36 hours of back labour omfg worst pain ive ever been in. My daughter was facing wrong way so the back of her head was pressing on my spine making it much worse. I only got a handful of stomach contractions + I barely felt them. To me back labour felt like my back was slowly breaking, the pain was coming in waves, would start in the small of my back + spread out everywhere. My back kept seizing up by itself ugh it was awful. I still havent forgotten. Plus my contractions were mostly really long, lasted a good few mins I thought I was gona lose my mind!

This is a good description. I've heard back contractions is pretty smurffy so I can't imagine 36 hours of it. My back hurts so bad right now but I don't really feel like its going anywhere. For a min I felt like it was shooting down. And had some pinching pain in my vagina. I had a c-section with my first child so I have no idea what labor feels like.

omg i dont no wat labor feels like either but im guess from wat i have been told by the doc and also seeing them on the monitor at the hospital that they are tightening in ur tummy then it eases up after a min or so then comes back...not sure how it will feel in the back tho sorry im just feeling them in the tummy area and like the other ladies said they dont super hurt they they just make me stop wat im doing and hold my breath til it goes away

I really hope you don't end up in back labour, it's not so bad for everyone who gets it but I still wouldn't wish it on anyone! I ended up getting a c section myself in the end, too many complications + I was exhausted had not slept in 48 hours. My daughter wasn't able to handle the labour anymore either, her heart almost stopped when I finally got my epidural so they had to get her out fast. She was absolutely fine thank god, I was just glad it was finally over! My back still aches now since + I'm 9 weeks pp.
