How old was your child..

when they could 100% take a shower by themselves, shampoo/washing/creme rinse, ect,?

My daughter is four, and we co-shower usually (unless I'm babysitting and then she co-baths with our roommate).. but now it's getting harder in the tub with her and my big ol' belly.
Plus, bending over to help in the bath is killing me too.

She knows which potion is which in the shower, but she tends to miss a big patch of her head when she shampoos herself. And if she misses it with the creme rinse, I usually have to put her back in to do it again so she can brush the tangles out. (Else I have to do it, and Miss Tender Head hates that.)
She tells me she wants to do it all by herself, but I feel bad for having to put her back in when it doesn't go right.

Just curious when it all fell into place for your kid?

Jalene is 4 and she can wash herself, but I still have to come in and wash her hair. She's probably able to do it on her own, but she freaks when just water gets in her eyes b/c she thinks it's shampoo.

My daughter is 5 and still has a problem washing her hair. She is getting the hang of it slowly but surely.

My soon to be 4 year old is horrified by water that splashes her, so, she still takes a bath in the mornings. She does do most of it on her own. I do help wet her hair down (her little brother takes a bath along with her), but she's really good about doing 99% of it. She lets me know if she needs help, and I stick close by as I get her brother out. I'm not really in any rush though, lol. She's growing up way too fast.

DS started taking showers at 5 with no help, he used to take baths but he did that alone since 4. I still get the water on for him (he's 6 now) because he tried and almost burned himself so it's easier and faster for me to put it on. I guess it's easier for boys though, he has such short hair that it's not hard to get the shampoo out.

My daughter showered by herself starting at 7ish.

But because her hair is crazy thick, I washed that for her in the sink.

My girls are 4 1/2 and 3 1/2 and take showers by their selves, well together but without me lol They've only been doing it for a few months now. Our oldest knows the works but our youngest hates water in her face so she doesn't get all of the shampoo out of her hair. My belly is too big to get in with her so I stand outside the shower and help the best that I can.

When you are babysitting she bathes with the child or your adult roommate?

My son who is 7 can shower hisself. I usually smell check him afterwards.
My four year old can do his body just not his back and if he had it his way he wouldn't ever wash his hair so I do that for him.

Julia is a couple months older than Chelsie and we just started letting her shower by herself (with my standing right outside the shower, lol). She's does everything herself, but I usually double check her hair b/c she has a habit of shampooing the top, but not the back.

My daughter will be 4 in July and she has been showering by herself for about 8 months now. She does all her body and hair washing herself. She goes in when I ask her to and comes out and gets dry all on her own.

And well of course my 10 yr old showers herself as well.
They dont take baths anymore thats just nasty washing in dirty bath water IMO. They stopped baths at around 15m of age and went to showers. If they do have a bath they just play then go straight into the shower to wash.

My daughter was always independant and wanted to wash her own hair since just before 2 yrs oldm so I let her and would just help a little if she missed spots. But the only thing now she has trouble with is how much to use I go through shampoo like crazy cause she uses so much lol as well as the conditioner lol.

But yeah she washes her hair on her own and rinses..every so often she will ask me for help but not that often
