Enima??? (don't know if I spelt it right)

Anybody have any experience or advise with getting an enima the night before delivery???

I didn't even notice if I pooed or not.

I didn't get one. I know some midwives or drs recommend getting one but my ob never brought it up so I didn't. Sounds like an unnecesary and totally avoidable procedure

Um, never have had one. And I haven't shat on the delivery table either. But honestly, that's not the biggest concern either. Things are sticky, gooey, and bloody when you give birth. Who really cares about a little stool?

It used to be common practice in hospitals before birth. My mom had one before she had me. I guess to minimize the smurffing while pushing.

i totally agree with you on that one. who really cares. i never did when i had my daughter but if i did i doubt i would even care. so much going on

I didn't get one. If I shat, I shat. Couldn't be any worse than my Husband seeing my vagina stretch the size of a cantaloupe.
I didn't smurf though.

i always did mine at home with fleet enema. I have never done it at the hospital though. I poop right after doing it and then I am good to go..lol I did it before my induction with my first and well I was really constipated and did one just hours before I went into labor with Harper. I didn't do it with Harper to keep from pooping on the table I just really needed to go and couldn't..lol

Sounds pretty pointless. Not everyone smurfs while giving birth. I pissed a ton, but I didn't smurf. lol

I wouldn't worry about getting one.. you're going to be pretty preoccupied in there to notice if you poop. And the midwives just wipe that away without a word if it does!
