my post partum check up is coming and i have to choose, i know i want a long term BC. im aware of the risks of each but which is the lesser of two evils in your opinion? include any personal experiences please, Thanks!

Not sure which is less evil lol. I'm voting for Mirena because that's the one I have. I use to hate it to be honest. But my body is adjusting to it and it isn't that bad anymore.

I had Mirena and it was horrible! I had major mood swings, horrible back pain, never wanted to have sex, it hurt to have sex. Lots of weight gain. The only thing I liked was not having a period. Oh and it cut my husband a few times :/
I have Implanon now. The only thing I don't like is that I spot a lot and a little weight gain but nothing that won't come off with exercise and better eating habits.

implanon. i had mirena and it messed with my body. i have a description of what happened on my profile page if you want to read it.

im on nuva ring now and LOVE it. 3 weeks in. 1 week out. put new one in for 3 weeks, out for one week, etc. and you can leave it in during sex or take it out and put it back in within 3 hours of taking it out, and its still just as effective. its amazing.

Paragard! I had the mirena and i gained weight and i just didnt like it. I have the paragard, it has no hormones and i love it!!

plus it last for 10 years!

Well I'm saying mirena. I've never had it, but I had implanon and it sucks dick!

The implanon was terrible for me, I had random periods that would last all of 2days every few months, weight gain which I lost when it got taken out(with hard work) and I had mood swings when I first got it. I plan on trying the copper pragard as its hormone free.

I had the Mirena when I magically conveived this baby...now I have HORRIFIC health issues from it. Blood clots in leg and heart and lungs, pre-e, hemorrhage in the placenta. I loved it before the problems, and I know the risks are extremely minimal, but I nearly died 2 times in January before we knew I was pregnant. We saw that I was pregnant during a CT scan   So far baby seems to be really healthy though! I had the Mirena for 3-1/2 years before this happened.

I have paragard, I LOVE it!

Nothing has happened bad to me with it.
