Um, you FOR SURE have to have a say in his name. After all, the little guy's making YOU uncomfortable for a few months, not your SO. My baby's father was stubborn too and I laid it out for him- if you concede to a first name I like, you can have free reign over middle name. And if I have to concede to a first name you like, I pick middle. And in the end, it can't be something either of us hates, I told him.
I like both your names, but prefer Isaiah dereck. Good luck!

I have an we are working on it. I don't mind giving up derick since there are many names I have in mind. I just wish thus was easier

Names are hard- especially because your child will (usually) have them for the rest of their life. A lot of thought should go into it... but it's hard when you and your spouse have different tastes. lol

Well and a lot of it is my fault because I did like the name Isaiah Thomas on paper but trying to call the baby Isaiah just doesn't feel right. I end up slipping and calling him Dakota. I guess I just have to sort my feelings out

My DH wanted to name our oldest after him. I had agreed at first and I like the name, but I didn't want to give our child the name "just because". Also, DH HATES his first name, and his initials... so as time went on, we talked about it. We made a list of names and kept narrowing it down, and found a FN we both agreed on, and decided to use his first name as LO's MN.
