Uh, hmmm. Haven't heard that. Your period depends on so many other factors.

I don't have it, but I have two friends who do...They said they had some break through bleeding, but haven't had a real period since they got it...

About what to expect when your'e on it...You may be in the 20% who don't bleed at all... http://www.mirena-us.com/whatexpect.html?C=&c=

Good luck!!

I've had my Mirena for about 6 months. My doctor said it takes 6 months for your body to adjust to it. I bleed the first 3 months straight almost some days very light though. Next 3 I got regular periods for 10 days each month. Not normal for me. I was told a good percentage of women quit getting their period when they get the mirena. This month for the first time my period was very light and only 2 days!!!!!!!!!

Edited to add:
My friend has had it for like 2 years and still hasn't gotten her period.

That's good to know! I was worried it might not be working properly or something....and I don't want to get pregnant, especially with it in....also did anybody else's OB/GYN have to bend the cords around their cervix to keep your hubby from feeling it and the cramping pains down?

Bend the cords around the cervix? Never heard of that. My doctor said if it bothers him she could cut them shorter. And how would that keep cramping down? I was told Ib profin for 48 hours and rest which helped.

I was thinking the same thing, but it does keep the cramping down, I had it "normally" but my husband kept hitting it and I was cramping badly with it (they felt like bad braxton hicks contractions kinda- so it wasn't good)....So when we went in to have the cords cut she suggested putting them around my cervix so Hubby would be less likely to hit them and strangely the cramping was instantly taken away by the cords new placement...I thought it odd but it worked so I am not complaining...
