Oh I think that's a great idea (hah I've only been here for a year -almost-).
But what if the post count was intertwined with the time you've been on the site?
Say over 5000 posts and one year+ would get a status. Otherwise lurkers with 20 posts would end up with a status heh.

How will you decide status, though? Based on how long you've been here or post counts alone?
I don't want to get rid of post counts. For more than one reason.
