Help? (might be tmi)

I can't get anyone to answer the phone at my OB's office. I guess they're busy. I have some kind of nasty flu or cold. Idk, but I'm coughing my damn head off. Which wouldn't be such a big deal except I'm pregnant and it makes me vomit. I puke every time I cough. I'm trying to drink a lot of water to stay hydrated but I can't keep anything down because I can't quit coughing. Cough drops are not cutting it. Is there any kind of cough syrup or cold meds I can take? I don't remember what my OB said I could take with LO because it's been almost 3 years ago since the last time I was pregnant and sick and I can't get him on the phone to ask. I've been calling for an hour. Help?

Try calling a pharmacy or go into one, they can tell what is allowable during pregnancy.

Lucky for you I brought my safe meds list to work...
For Sore Throat/Cough:
Robitussin cough syrup (plain)...may use Robitussin DM after the first trimester - week 12.
Thats the only cough medicine that's listed. Hope you feel better!!!

you can go the natural way and heat up some hot water and pour lots on honey in it.. or drink decaf green tea :-)

I was told that Robitussin DM was safe to take while pregnant. Just make sure that you stay hydrated and make to keep some kind of nutrition down you. My OB told me to go to either urgent care, a family physician, or the ER in order to get checked out. Just remember, healthy momma equals healthy baby :-) Good luck and I hope you feel better!
