Quoting Ryan's mom & preg.:“ I plan to BF, but I will have a couple of these on hand incase I have to alternate. They are pricey, but the closest thing to the nipple and BPA free. http://www.babybungalow.com/adbrnutulbab.html”
A few people on here have tried them and they all said they leak really bad.

Using regular plastic bottles are fine, even if they contain BPA. You just have to know how to use them properly. Don't heat them up, which you aren't supposed to heat plastic up anyway! Ever heard you aren't supposed to microwave your tupperware? Hello, same goes for baby bottles! And if you ladies are so concerned with BPA, then don't buy anything that's hard plastic, that's what makes most plastic hard. Most sports bottles contain them, you know those big jugs of water you lug around at the gym? The BPA warning came out years ago that excessive heat to the plastic MAY cause cancer not that it will. For some reason news stations decided to run this as if this were a new thing recently and its freaking everyone out for no reason! So if BPA is really freaking you out, then stop buying ALL hard plastic. If you look it up on the web there is a rating system on plastics, which one contains the most BPA and which ones contain the least and so on, I can't remember what it is, but FYI most baby bottles won't list it, you will need to contact the manufacturer to get it.

oh geez i CANNOT handle another bottle that leaks!!! these avent bottles are driving me insane..ive already thrown away 3 of them....i think it may be somewhat my fault tho cuz i screw them on real tight..but last time i didnt they leaked all over my diaper bag and ruined her shot records a ss card.....well i never put my bottles in the microwave..but i heard the same was for dishwashing...and i luv using my dishwasher.....and since it says on the box u should boil them to sterilize them does that also heat them up and release the bpa stuff?? i know its a lot of questions....i always look too into things and thats why it gets confusing for me...like i always knew about the microwave..but what about dishwasher, boiling them??

Yes the dishwasher and boiling them does the same thing as heating then up. I really loved my dr browns and we will be getting the glass ones and a few of the 8 oz bpa free.
Here is dr browns we site. The very last bottle on the page is bpa free. They just came out this month so im not sure what places carry them.

The reason it is "new" news is because a study that was conducted just released results in August. This specific test focused on baby bottles, and the rates of bpa that certain brands were found to emit was alarming. And, I have gotten rid of anything made of polycarbonate plastic. It is a simple switch to make and I choose not to knowingly expose my family to something that could cause problems for my children later.

I know that drop-ins are BPA free. Check parentsmag.com , they had a list of BPA free bottles in one of their issues (oct or nov I believe.)

We took the other bottles we registered for off and added the born free bottles. They are more expensive, but well worth it in the end.

Normally we wouldn't think about paying this for bottles, but they are suppose to be good for breastfeed babies, and it's not like we need a ton of bottles any ways.

Just thought I would throw in this web site. It has lists of BPA free bottles, sippy cups, and other baby food spoons and such. It also tells you what some of the moms switch out on the nipples of some of the bottles.

Diapers etc.
