4 Year Check-Up... Vaccinations?

DO NOT TURN THIS INTO A VACCINATION VS. NON-VACCINATION THREAD. We selective/delayed vax... that is our choice, and that's what we've gone with. So please, just answer the question.

Our insurance was messed up for a few months, so now that it's fixed, my 4 1/2 year old is going in for his 4 year checkup today.

On a NORMAL vaxing schedule, would he get shots today?

Yep. The mmr and chicken pox and hep A I believe. My son had his 4 year last Thursday

  I HATE when he gets shots. BLAHHHHHH.

Usually MMR, DTaP and the IVP. If you delay already I'd just do one today if possible.

I usually do one at a time... he'll get them over the next 3 months (one every month). Lately my Dr.'s office have only had the 3-in-1 shots, and I hate them.

My son begged for all at once so he wouldn't come back, this was last Tuesday, and he had a horrible reaction   You can get them at the health department if your dr only has the 3 in 1 shots. Usually the DTaP and IPV is one shot, but some insurances won't cover the condensed vaccines, so they have to keep separate on hand, kwim?

Me to! He only got the MMR last week and will be getting the other 2 in the next few months. He screamed and cried like never before with the one shot and the nurse walked out of the room to get him a sticker and when she walked back in he instantly started hysterically crying and screaming thinking he was going to get more. :-( I cried with him. It makes me feel horrible.

Idk what I'm going to do... this will be the first checkup his father isn't at (we split up 15 months ago, so was around for his 3 year... usually his father holds him while they give him shots because I pass out.

This should be interesting.

That really sucks! It was my first time to doing the shots with him to. I always had SO go with us and he would hold him during the shots so its was horrible for both of us! What helped my son was taking him for icecream afterwards maybe you could tell him that he gets a special treat after? I hope everything goes well for the both of you!
