Hopelessly Lost

So I get this e-mail from my ex-best-friend of a couple of years. The last time I spoke to him, a couple of months ago, was to tell him what he did was wrong. All he did was say "Well, I'm sorry but there's nothing I can do about it now". 

Now he's sending me friend requests on websites, asking me if we still have a friendship, etc.

I'm afraid to go up and visit my family that lives near him!

What should I do? Invest in tire iron or something?

Well, people word it differently than I do, but I think the word is a bit aggressive for his personality...

I'll just say: he had sex with me after I expressed myself against it. 

So: Tire Iron? Cause I can see pepper spray having a negative effect on my son.

Not obnoxious I would:
A: file a police report
B: Get a restraining order
C: If it makes you feel safe carry a tire iron or some sort of weapon, but be careful
